A few weeks ago I was challenge to come up with a way to recycle a Chick-fil-A salad container. After a bit of brainstorming I came up with what I thought was an adorable idea, that I knew my daughter would love.
I made a fairy garden! I headed to my local Hobby Lobby and to my pleasant surprise they have about half an aisle in their floral section dedicated to fairies. From moss to tiny fixtures, I was in fairy heaven!
The beauty of this project is that you can include anything! Natural flowers you pick on a nature walk or just on your yard, artificial flowers to last longer. You can make your own tony furniture and fixtures if you’re feeling extra crafty.
Here’s the moss I used as base:
Once you have your container clean, lay your moss as much or as little as you want. Then start setting all the fixtures and decorations you want! I sent my kids to forage for some cute rocks and a couple bushes.
And this is my fairy garden!
I chose artificial flowers so it would last, I fell in love with the tiny wheelbarrow and the butterfly chair. I also made sure the butterfly was extra big as to give it a nice scale, fairy are much smaller thanbutterflies… Obviously 😜
Hope you found it helpful and next time you enjoy a delicious Chick-fil-A salad you think of all the possibilities!
